MASTEK'ION STOCK SALE,

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Co., Ltd., report at their Masteiton stock sale, yesterday, a heavy yarding in sheen, every class being represented. Rates fgv all sound sheep were sound, and the bulk of.the entries sold; only poor class being dilticulfc to quit. Cattle were limited to a fow pens of useful sorts, all selling at fair prices. Fat wethers made 10s, stores, best, 15s sd, others to 24s 4d, breeding ewes, best 12s, others 9s to 10s, culls down to 3s Od, fat anl forward iambs 10s 4d, good, stores 8s 9d, medium and small 7s to ss, 2-tooth rams 2 to store 3-year steers 80s, forward cows and heifers Gss, porkers 13s.

Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited, report of'their stock sales held this week:—

On Monday, atTaratahi, we had a very fair yarding of sheep and a large catalogue of horses. Sheep were in fair demand, all lots excepting two pens of Jambs beiiig sold. Draught ho rseg sold readily, but hacks were di fficulfe to quit. Draught gelding, 2 years, reaobed £27; l 2 year draught] filly £4O, draught stallion, £ls; mares and foals, £4 10s. '.On Tuesday, at Kocuaranga, there was a moderate entry of stock of all classes. Sheep were chiefly represented by ewes for which there was very little enquiry. Cattle wen difficult to deal with.

On Wednesday, at Mastert'on, we yarded upward of 5,000 sheep of al classes. The quality throughout was better tban previous sales, and there was good bidding in most cases. The number of breeding ewea was in excess of the demand and several pens were passed out unsold. There was a better demajd for lambs, and all lots were disposed of. In oitfcie only about 60 head came forward, these being placed, excepting a few head. A nice ]ine of forward, well-woolled lambs sold at 10s 3d. Another good line of woolly lambs 8s 7d; shorn lambs, 5s 8d to 7s 9d; culls, 3s 6d to 4s 9d; beat young breeding ewes, 14s 6cl, good line; othor sound mouth ewea, : 7s 8d to 9s; fat ewes, 14s 6d; a pen of 600 good conditioned well wool led 6W98, lis 4d; oull ewes from 3s to 4b Id; 2-toofch wethers, 15s 6d; 3year bullocks, £5; 2-year steers and heifers, 50s; wearier pigs, 5s 3d to 6s 9d.
