The enquiry into the stranding of the oruiser Donegal showed that the mishap was due to a Blip made by a lieutenant'in-marking the card snowing the course.
Captain Grogan was severely reprimanded for not seeing the error, and Lieutenant Jones was ordered to forfeit a year's seniority and to be dismissed from his ship.
