King Victor Emmanuel and Queen Helene have contributed £4,000 for the relief of the sufferers. . Further violent explosions have occurred.
There is a strong disturbance in the interior of the mountain.
Lava £is agaift, flowing towards Pompeii. There is a downpour of ashes in the distriot surrounding the volcano. "

King Edward has sent to King Victor Emmanuel bis deep sympathy in connection with the disaster. A total of five hundred people perished at Ottaiano and San Giuseppe.
The volcano is now active in the direction of Ceroola.
A shower of sulphur fell at San Giuseppe, Vesuviani and Ottaiano, and a shower of reddish sand fell for several hours at Naples. In the evening the ashes were tbiokest. Torredelereed and Torreannuziata are both isolated. Numbers of people, including British and German journalists, are unable to leave. : The Frenoh Squadron has been sent to Naples to assist in the rescue of th<s sufferers.
