Lloyd George, President of the Board of Trade, has replied favourably to a deputation of the associated Chambers of Commerce, regarding legislation to compel patentees to work their patents here instead of abroad. THE TRUCK ACT. Received April 11, 12.48 a.m. LONDON, April 10. Mr Herbert Gladstone. Secretary of State, Home Department, has appointed a oommittee to inquire into the working of the Truck Aot, and also as to whether the practice of allowing shop assistants to be boarded out by employers leads to abuses.
