Reoeived April 5, 11.55 p.m. LONDON, April 5. Obituary - Right Rev. Lord Alwyne Compton, D.D., late Bishop of Ely. (Deceased was born in 1825, and was the seoond sou of tbe Marquis of Northampton. He was ordained in 1850; Hon. Canon of Peterborough, 1856 to 1875; Ardeacon of Oakham. 1875-79; Lord Higb Almoner since 1882; Dean nf Worcester, 1879-85; Prolocutor of Lower House of Canterbury, 1880-86. He was made Bishop of Ely in 1886, and resigned in 1905).
