WATER FOR LANSDOWNE.
VARIOUS PROPOSALS. A meeting of Lansdowne ratepayers was held in the Foresters' Hall last evening. Mr H. G. Williams occupied the ohair, and there were thirty ratepayers present. After considerable discussion it was resolved that the Water Supply Committee be authorised to wait upon the Borough Counoil and arrange terms for the acceptance of the Council's offer, the' Committee to have power to aot. It was further deoided to request the County Council to prooeed with the raising of the necessary loan to carry out the work, also that Mr D. Dobson be asked to provide plans and specifications oovering,the work to be done, and the Committe be instructed to arrange the details with Mr Dobson. It was resolved that the Committee constituted for the water supply saheme be a committee, to consider the matter of forming a Town Board over the water supply rating area. Mi D. Alex. Morton was appointed Secretary In place of Mr F. H. Wood, who had resigned. The question of lighting and improving the northern approaoh to Masterton and the sanitation were disoussed at considerable length. It was resolved that the Water Supply Committee wait upon the Borough Counoil and discuss those matters.
