Lord Elkiq, wishing} to enquire into the scope of operations of ihe expedition despatched by Sir J?'. Lugard against the Muroki tribesmen in Nigeria, stopped it when it had reached the enemy's oountry. The expedition remained inactive, and when permission to again pioceed arrived, the expedition was recalled, owing to a native outbreak in Sokoto. Meanwhile the Minski country remains closed to all trade.
