MELBOURNE v. CANTERBURY COLTS. By Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, March 29. The Melbourne crioket team brought its New Zealand tour to a olose to-day, when it met and defeated fifteen Canterbury colts after a close game by two runs. The match was played at Hagley Park for the benefit.of ,F. S. Frankish, the wellknown Canterbury representative, who has been in ill-health for some time past. Unfortunately the weather was on a par with that experienced during the New Zealand matoh, heavy sou'-west squalls with rain preventing the game commencing until shortly before one o'clock. The wicKet and outfield were very dead and greatly in favour of the bowlers. The colts made 98 in their first venture. The visitors responded with 100 runs.
