WAIRARAPA DISTRICT HOSPITAL BOARD.

ESTIMATES PASSED.

The statutory meeting of the Wairarapa District Hospital Board was held in the County office, Masterton, yesterday. There were present: —Messrs E. G. Eton (obair), J. C. Ewington, D. Crewe. H. Cornelius, D. Guild, W. J. Welch, W. Perry. M. Maxton, and M. J. H. Jackson. The Treasurer reported a oredit balance of £284 9s Bd. The excess of assets over liabilities was shown to be £73 10s lid. A letter was received from the Masterton Borough Council objecting to the Borough beiDg rated "io the extent of 26 per cent, of the total levy on the local bodies in the, Wairarapa Hospital district for the purposes of infectious diseases hospitals. The letter was received. The estimates for the year 2906-7 were then considered, and passed as follows: Receipts'— Masterton, £1,299 10a; South WairaraDa, £1,164 4a; Pahiatua, £1.261. Expenditure—Maaterton, £1,299 10s; South Wairarapa, £1,094 4s; Pahiatua, £l,lll. The following requirements for the Infectious Diseases Hospitals were passed.—Masterton, £1,250; South Wairarapa, £425; Pahiatua, £660. Deducting the amount of the Government subsidy from these amounts it leaves the sum of £1,155 to 1 be raised in the district.
