PTOMAINE POISONING
A NUMBER OP GUESTS SUFFERING.
CHRISTCHURCH, March 27,
A number of guests at a wedding, at, Addington. at the end of last week/ have been seriously affected with ptomaine poisoning. The most serious case is that of Mrs Sinclair, the mother of the bride; the doctor in attendance admitting that her condition is*precarious. Mr J. K. Sinclair, her" son, and his wife and child, were, also, among those affected, but they are all improving. Mr Peryman, of Tai Tapu, another sufferer, has been in a serious condition, but' is now on the road to recovery. Besides those mentioned a large number of people are still under medical care, but no further serious cousequenoes are anticipated. LATER. The poison is supposed to have been contained in trifle, for only those who ate the trifle were affected. The entire catoriug for the wedding was done by a Aim of looal confectioners.
