MAURICEVILLE NOTES.

MAUKIOEVILLE, March 27. The school inspector, Mr Bakewell, examined our school on Monday. There were 24 pupils presented in the standards. The passes were:— Standard VI.: Lancelot Buokler, proficiency; Leonard Brookf, competency. Standard V.: Harris Malabarr. Standard IV.: George Thrupp, Mrytle HofFoins, Kathleen McKewon. Standard 111'.: Charles Hoffeins, Albert Rowell. Standard II.: Maurice Rundell. Standard I.: William Fisher, Mary Brooks, Lily Dryden, Lily Goo.lgame. A heavy equinoctial pale burst over the district last night. It commenced with a sudden, fierce burst about midnight, and raged with great fury until 7 a.m. to-day, when it steadied down somewhat, and was succeeded by a fall of snow, which still continues at time of writing. The weather is bitterly coH, the thermometer standing at 34 deg.
