LONDON MARKETS. , Messrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd., Wellington, have received the following cable advises from their London Office, dated the 22nd instant:—Frozen Meat: A moderate business doing, but prices are unaltered. Butter: Market weak and Copenhagen official quotation unchanged. The total imports of butter into the United Kingdom for the week ending the 17th instant amounted to 78,000cwt, as compared with 59,000cwt for the corresponding period of the previous year. More demand for unsalted than salted. Tallow: Good to prime mutton tallow, higher by 3d to 6d per owt. Other descriptions, higher by 6d per owt. f STOCK REPORT. Mr W. Rose reports as follows: Daring the past fortnight I have held the following sales:— Woodville, Maroh 12th There was a good yarding of chiefly young cattle, and praotically every line was said under the hammer. Weaners brought from 7s up to 20a 6d, according to condition and quality, 15 months steers heilors 36s to £2. Dannevirke horse sale, Maroh 17th—I had a yarding of over 50 horses. Heavy draughts were most in demand, of which there was only a limited supply, and the majority changed hands. Draughts from £25 up to £4O, light harness horses brought from £6 up to £l6, horse, gig and harness £25, hacks from £3 up to £l2 10s. Norsewood stock sale, Maroh 19th —A good yarding of both sheep and cattle, and the majority sold readily under the hammer. Sheep: Ewes (mixed ages) Bs, 2-tooth to f.m. ewes lis. Cattle: 3to 4-year-old steers £5 4s, fat cows £3 5s to £4 10s, 18months steers £2 2s 6d to £2 4s, yearling bteers 31s, 2 to 2>£-year-old steers £3 7s 6d to £3 10s, 15 to 20 months steers £1 17s, weaners lis to 15s. Dannevirke etook sale, Maroh 23rd—Owing to the bad weather several advertised lines did not oome forward, though 1 had a good yarding of sheep and a fair lot of cattle, which were Bold at the following rates:—Sheep: 2-tooth to f.m ewes 12s, old ewes 5s 9d, fat wethers 15s 9d, fat ewes 13s 6d and lis lid, Romney rams £2 15b. Cattle—3-year-old steers £3, bullocks £5, fat cowa £4 10s to £5, forward cows £3 ss, 15 months steers and heifers 21s, cows in calf £4 10s to £5 (good). For weaners there was praotioaily no sale.
