A love tragedy is reported from Brunswick, a duchy in north-west Germany. A bank clerk named Brunke, who was betrothed to Fraulein Haars, found himself equally attached to the girl's sister, and the three deoided to commit Buioide.

Brunke shot both of,the girls dead, but the attempt to take bis own life was not successful.

The mother of the girls was so stricken with grief that she committed suicide.

Brunke was arrested, and has been sentenoed to eight years' imprisonment.
