A SERIOUS ACCIDENT.
AUCKLAND, March W, A serious accident occurred, tonight, whereby a member of the meohanioal staff of the Tramway Company, named Thos. Gilbert Boyd, had the base of his skull frao tured. He was repairing a broken wirG, but bad not been long at the work before his mate heard him cry, "I'm falling," and the next moment he crashed on to the roadway, head foremost. Medical aid soon arrived, and Boyd was taken to the Hospital. It is thought that Boyd slipped or that the ladder slid, and that' he thus lost his balance. His condition is regarded as very critical.
