THE EARTHQUAKE EN FORMOSA.
A THOUSAND PEOPLE KILLED. Keoeiverl Maroli 21, 8.35 a.m. LONDON, March 20. Later information regarding the earthquake in Formosa shows that one thousand people were killed aud seven hundred injured in one district. THE WHOLE ISLAND SHAKEN. SEVERAL TOWNS COMPLETELY DESTROYED. DAMAGE AMOUNTS TO NINE MILLION STERLING. Received Maroh 21, 9 30 p.m. LONDON, Maroh 21. The Daily Telegraph's Tokio correspondent reports that thousands were killed at Formosa. The whole island was shaken. , Several towns were completey destroyed. The damage amounted to nine million sterling.
