PORGAROA.

(Prom Oar Own Correspondent). PONGAROA, March 20. A bazaar in aid of the Presbyterian Church building Fund is to be held on the April 6th, and, given fine weather, it promises to be a very successful function. The Pongaroa School held their annual picnic on Friday last, and the children and parents enjoyed the outing very muoh, thanks to the energetio committee and secretary. Grass seed sowing is in full swing on the recently burnt country. The beason is a very favourable one for the early sowing of gvass. At the end of the month most of the creameries in the district will olose down, owing to the supply decreasing. The Pongaroa Foresters', Court is calling tenders for building a hall in the township. Owing to the increase of business, Mr'S. Boalt, briobmaker, has decided to put down additional plant. r lhe County bridges are being painted, and the contractor, Mr A. Blanohard, is making excellent progress with the work. A turbine water-wheel is being , ereoted at the Horoeka creameiy. Messrs Donald and Sons., Ltd., of Masterton, have fitted up their shearing maohines at Messrs Burling Bros.' woolshed, Pongaroa, and are at present engaged in fitting machines at Mr Henry Burling's shed at Tiraumea, Alfredton.
