FOOTBALL.
NEW ZEALAND TEAM V RECEPTION TO SOUTHERN . MEMbERS. r DUNEDIN, March 11. Messrs J. Duncan, S. Casey, E. Booth, VV. T. Stead and A. McDonald, of the New Zealand football team, arrived iu Dunedin on Saturday evening, and were met by thousands of people at the railway station. A great scene of enthusiasm prevailed. The Mayor welcomed the members home again. Mr Stead denied that there had been any friction between the North and South Island members. The Eaikorai Band was in attendance. . Mr E. Welch, a Vice-President o£ the Red Star Football Club, has donated a gold medal for the best all-round player in the Rod Star senior team. During the pa3t few days the Club has had three gold medals (for competition among the seniors) and *wo silver medals (for the third-class team) presented to them.
