Thirty-five teams took part, jpha conditions were seven shots at 200 yds, 500 yds, and 600 yds. The Opaki team had a lead at 200 yds, with 162, the Christohuroh Engineers being next with 157. , At the 500 yds range the leaders "burst," and Weber, with 159, at ! 500 yds, was , in front, 'iWitli.'.Gfoiist[church and ; Wanganui a tie for seoond place, the totals being Weber 310, Christohuroh Engineers and Wauganui Rifles 306. : At 600 yds the positions were changed greatly. Opaki. shooting very, steadily, put on the highest score at this range, viz., 140. One of the Weber team "burst," but they had sufficient lead to just stave off defeat, finishing with 439, while Opaki and Christohuroh were second with 437. They will probably fire off.
