THE NEW HEBRIDES CONVENTION.
Received March 7, 9.45.a.m. MELBOURNE, March 7. Mr Deakiu. the Federal Premier, states that the New Hebrides Convention is provisional and subject to tie consent of both the English and French Governments, the evident intention being to consult the Commonwealth before it is ratified. The conference, he believes, was merely for drawing nu a basis upon which an argeernent was to Do made.
