THE PEA RIFLE DANGER.
At a meeting of the Te Awamutu Town Board, one of the members drew attention to the indiscriminate use of pea rifles. Hie son had been nearly shot whilst drawing a bucket of water, and a number of other persous were complaining of the same thing. Another member stated that ho nearly got shot whilst on his honeymoon. The bullet of a pea rifle just went past in front of him. Thou again, not long ago, whilst passing, Gresham Park on his way to church he was nearly shot twice by some boys who were tiring bullets about. Another member said that whilst visitting in his office one day, a bullet came through the window. The Board decided to take steps to prohibit the uee of pea rifles within th»> jown boundary, the chairman undertaking to interview the police on the matter.
