""J The Government has deprecated the calumnies of ex-General Louis Botha and Mr Ewald Ea9lyn, the well-known King's Counsel, on behalf of the Hot Volk, and expresses the deepest satisfaction at Sir Henry Campbell-Baunerman's decision to hold an enquiry into the Transvaal question. Whatever the result, this decision will ins Dire confidence and satisfaction throughout the whole of South Africa. A Constitution so granted would be sure to produce prosperity and loyalty. Of a total of 1,950 Rand coolies repatriated, 1.233 endeavoured to reengage at Chingwantao, but were prevented. A hundred and twenty tried, bub were also prevented, at Choefoo. Of the remaining five hundred, a hundred got; back to the Rand .
