HOME MARKETS. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Wellington have received the lollowingcablegams from their London office, dated the 15th instant:—Butter: The tone of th« market is rather better. Buyers are operating more j freely. The Copenhagen official quotation is unchanged. We expect no immediate chance in prices. The total imports of butter into the United Kingdom for the week end.ing the 10th insta it amounted to 72,000 cwt., as compared with 100,000 for the corresponding period of lasc year. New Zealand frozen mutton and lamb: Market firm, but little, doing. Beef: We quoteOx fores, 180-2201b5, f.a.q., 2%d, hinds 3%d., Ttftlow: Since our last, telegram, prices are unchanged. WELLINGTON WOOL SALES. Messrs Dalgety and Co, Ltd., report :—The fourth wool sale of tho eeaeon was held on Friday last. Total offerings from all brokers being a little over 5,000 bales, as against 2,300 bales at the corresponding salo of last year. Our catalogue comprised 1,096 bales. There was a large attendance of Home, Foreign. Continental and local buyers, and bidding was very keen throughout the sale, all lots being eagerly competed for. We topped the market with a line of half bred fleece at As compared with the January sale, prices generally advanced %& per lb. Lambs wool particularly was keenly competed for, but seedy lambs were neglected; pieces, bellies, etc., sold well. The following prices were realised, and wealso-give prices in brackets at the February sale of last year:-Halfbred 10% d to (9d), in fine and bright orossbred lOd to crossbred, to 9%d to 7%d),; inferior and dingy, to B%d (6>£d to 7d); superior lambs, 9%d to 10% d (7%d to inferior lambs 7%d to B%d (6d to 7d); seedy lambs, 6%d t0,7%d; bellies and pieces, 6%d to 7%d (4d to dead, 7%d to B}£d; locks, 3J£d to 4>£d (2d to 3d). Our next safe is fixed for March 16tb.
HIDE AND SKIN &EPORT.
Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Wellington, report:—We beld our usual fortnightly sale of wool, skin and hides in the Art Gallery, on the isth instant. The following were the pricesrealised:—Wool: Only fadges and bag lotsi,offering. Fine cross bred 9^d'to medium crossbred .BJ_d to 9d, inferior 7%d no lamba 8d to B>2<L inferior lambs 6d tu dead 7d to Bd, pieces to 5%d, locks 3%d to Skeespkinß: Prices showed a slight adanoe. Crossbred 'B%d to 9££d, lambsßKd toß%d,dead 1% to damaged 7 %& to B%d,_ dead ; and broken 7d to 7d, pelts 4s to 4b 3d. inferior Is 9d to 2s lOd, broken Is to Is 2d, green lamb skins 3s lOd to 4s Id, salted crossbred up to 5s 2d, goat skins Is. Hides: Market showed a decline of %d per lb in sympathy with the Australian market.
