At the annual Mayoral picnic, at Timaru, on Thursday, the Mayor announced that the new borough valuation totalled over £76,000, an increase of £14.000 on last year, and £25,000 over 1902. In the last four years 348 new buildings were erected and last year 119. Mr Oraigie was urged to accept another (fifth) year of Mayoralty. Mr Ernest Obitty, a blind student of Auckland University College, received intimation, on Saturday, that he has passed the final B.A. examination.
