WOOL, SKIN AND HIDE SALES | Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., Wellington, report upon their snle held yesterday :—We offered a qauntity of wool fadges and tags, 2,000 skins, and 250 bides, also some tallow and horsehair. Skius—There was strong competition for skins, and prices ruled fully equal to last sale. We. quote: Merinos to fine croasbreds Wa d to 9V 2 d, coarse to 9d. dead skins 7>£d to Bd, short wools 7d to B%d, woolly pelts (green) 3s 9d to 4s sd, bare pelts 2s to 2s lid, woolly lambs' skius (green) 3s to 3s lid, bare lamb pelts 2s Id. Tallow—Casks 20s 6d, tijs 17s 6d, rough fat lis 6d. Horsehair —ls Gd to 2s 3d peajlb. Hides—ln sympathy with tbe fall in prices at Sydney and Melbourne, tbe market declined %d per lb. We quote: Ox hides 5%d to 5%d, cow bides 5%d to cut and slippy hides to calf skins s}£d to The next sale will be held on the 2nd March. The i\ew Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Wellington, report, under date 16th inst., as follows:—At our sale, to-day, we offered 1,500 Skins, 100 hides, 71 sacksjwool, and a quantity of tallow and horsehair. For sheepskins and wool prices were, if anything, a shade firmer, but hides suffered a decline of to per lb. We quote: Sheepskins, merino, and fine crossbred, B%d to crarse crossbred, B%d to 9d; pelts from 7d toß%d; dead and damaged skins, 5%d iamb skins, to 9>£d per lb; green pelts from 2s to 4s sd; green lamb skins to 3s 9d. Wool in bags—Coarse and medium crosbred, 8d fo B%d; merino, B>£d; pieces, 4%d to 6%d; locks, 3d to >£d; dead wool, 7>£d to Bd. Hides —ox and qow, sound, from 5d to 5%d; out' Mnd damaged, 3d to calfskins, sound, to damaged, 2d to Tallow, mixed in shipping condition, 21s 6d; tins, 16s 6d to 18s, Horsehair, to Is 6d per lb.
