'■; MASTER'ION—FRIDAY (Before Mr W. P. James, S.M.). Breach of Licensing Aot.—Hans M.. J. HbfFtaina was charged with having sold liquor at the Mauriceville Hotel without having a license to do so; also, with having refused to show a license when called upon by the police, contrary to the Licensing Act, 1881. Mr 0. A. PowoaU appeared for' the defendant, and on his application an adjournment waa granted until March 14th. Druukentfeas.—William Mulligan, who appeared on a charge of drunk, enness, on Thursday, was again bethe Court to answer the same charge, and was flued 10s, in default 48 hours' imprisonment. Claim for Wages. Frederick Mace, represented by Mr D. K, Logan, claimed from Thomas MoKay Drumniond, represented by Mr B. J. Dolan, the sum of £6O 18a Gd, for wage 9 for services rendered as assistant surveyor. After hearing evideuoe His Worship gave judgment for plaintiff for the amount claimed, less ss, with costs amounting to £7 8s 6d. Notice of appeal was given. A Poacher Prosecuted. Ernest Lopiiag pleaded guilty to a charge of having taken fish from the Kuamahauga River without a license, Mr 0. A. Pownall appearedj for the Acclimatisation Society, but did not preßS for a heavy fine. The' minimum fine, 40s, was imposed, with oosts £1 12s. i , ~
