VALEDICTORY.

PRESENTATION TO MR J. L. CONLAtf. The members of the Wairarapa Amateur Athletic Club tendered u farewell social iu the Prince of Wales Hotel, last evening, to Mr J. L. Oonlau, late Secretary o e the Olub. There were over thirty members present, and Mr 0. A. Pownall,, President of the Olub, oocuoied the chair. On behalf of the members of the club, the Chairman presented Mr Oohlan with a case of pipes, and wished him every success in the future Mr Pownall said that Mr Conlan had been one of the £ounders"of the club, and one of its most energetic members. He had carried out the secretarial duties efficiently and had the satisfaction of leaving the club in a sound position. The recipient suitably responded. The following toast list was honoured:—"Our Guest," proposed by the Chairman and responded to by Mr Conlau; "Sports and Pastimes," Mr B. J. Dolau—Mr 0. Perry; "Officers and Competitors of the Club." Mr D. K. Logan—Messrs Q. W. Sellarand J. Bradbury; "The Ladies," Mr J. 0. MoKiJlop—Messrs Waite and F. Renall; "The President," Mr Logan—MrC. A. Pownall. Mr C. Perry, also spoke to the latter toast. SoDRS weie sung by Messrs W. Jago, W. Iggulden, P. Renall, T. Thompson, W. A. Feudal!, N. McEwen, H. Egau, F. Haughey, J, Kelliheiy and 0. E. G. Chapman.
