NEW BUTTER BILL.
TO PROTECT PRODUCERS AND CONSUMERS. t- ______ Keceived February 9, 9.12 p.m. • LONDON, February 9. Mr Taverner, Agent-General for Victoria, in an interview, urged that the Earl of Carrington, President of the Board of Agriculture, should introduce a new Butter Bill. The Earl of Carrington is anxious to do all that is possible, and will appoint a Select Committee of the House of Commons to take evidence upon the whole question of moisture, blending and faking, with a view to framing a Bill for the protection of both produoers and consumers, which he hopes to see passed by June next.
