ST. PATRICK'S DAY SPORTS ASSOCIATION.
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the St. Patrick's Day Sports Association will be held in the Park Oval, on Saturday, March 17th. The Society have considerably inoreased the prize money. The priuoipal event is the yt. Patrick's Day Handioap, of £4O. A silver oup, presented by Mr George Watson, the President, is alsj to be competed for in conneotion with this event. The cup has to be won twioe in succession or three times it intervals. There are three, distances to be run, viz., 100 yds, 220 yds, and 440 yds. The prizes in each distance are first £3, second £1 10s, third 10s. For the points prize £l6 is given for first place, £6 for second, and £3 for third. The entrance fee is 15s. The other principal events on the programme are:— Maiden Race, 220 yds; Maiden Cycle Race, 1 mile; Quoits Handicap, first prize £3 10s, second £l, third 10s; 100 Yards Amateur Handicap; Halfmile Bicycle Handicap, first prize £4, second 30s, third 10s; 220 Yards Amateur Handioap; Irish Jig, first prize £3, second 20s, third 10s; Scotch Bagpipe Music, first prize 40s, second 20s; St. Patrick's Day Wheel Race, 2 miles, first prize £l2, seoond £4, third £1; Four-Hand Irish Reel, first prize 40s and trophy, second 10s; Running High Jump, first prize 40s. seoond 20s; 880 Yards Amateur Handicap; Sailor's Hornpipe, first prize 40s, second 10s; Throwing Heavy Hammer, firsc prize 40s, second 10s; One Mile Handioap, fiist prize £5, second £2, third £1; One Mile Ladies' Bracelet; Clog Dance; Hop, Step and Jump; 880 Yards Handicap, first prize £5, second £2, third £1; Highland Fling; 1% Mile Bicycle Handicap, first prize £4. seoond 30s, third 10s; Consolation Handicap, etc. The first event will commence at 11 o'clock. Nominations for all handicap events will close with [the secretary, Mr Thos. Duncan, onjSaturday, February 24th. Handicaps will be declared on or about March 3rd, and acceptances will close on March 10th, at 9 p.m. Mr Ulio Shannon will be handicapper in the running and cycling events.
