PARK COMMITTEE.

A meeting of the Park Committee was held last evening. There were present—Ors Ewington (chairman), Elliott, Temple, and Morris. The Town Clerk was instructed to write to the School Commissioners explaining the aotual position in connection with their tenants on the nineteen acres adjoining the Park, and pointing out that the Commissioners hai been misinformed. A list of the borough reserves was read, and the Committee derided to recommend that all revenue from reserves be expended by the Park and Reserves Committee. With reference to the River Road gravel reserve it was decided to call for tenders to let it on a yearly tenure, reserving the right of entry for gravel to the Cuuncil. It was decided to instruct the custodial) to have the wattle tree that is most affeoted by the "rust" cut down, leaving the others to be dealt with at the proper season. The from the Wairarapa Amateur Athletic Association asking for a rebate on the amount charged for the use of the Park on Anniversary Day was fully discussed and finally the Committee regretted that it could not recommend any rebate, seeing that the sports meeting had been a success.
