WOUNDING WARDER.
A PRISONER FLOGGED. Received February 4, 4.39 p.m. LONDON, February 3. With the approval of Mr Herbert Gladstone, Secretary of State for the Home Department, eighteen strokes of the "cat" were inflited on a prisoner at Birmingham for having wounded a warder with a pointed instrument.
