The New York newspapny state that M, Kubelik, the famous violinist, has insured his two hands with the accident insurance companies for £20,000. If forced to abandon an engagement through an accident the companies will pay over to him twelve guineas a day, while if a finger is lost he will receive £IO,OOO.
A young man named J. Spring, who was engaged bush felling for Messrs Quiulan and Poppelwell, sawmillers, Kakariki, met with a severe accident on Tuesday. It appears that the axe glided from a log and struck the man on the right foot, severing two of tho toes and inflicting a nasty gash on the instep.
