LONDON, January 30.

Owing to tbe Panther incident, Brazil is likely to transfer £4,500,000 worth of naval orders from Germany to Britain.

(Tbe incident referred to arose out of the German gunboat Panther landing a force of men at Rio de Janeiro and arresting a German, who left Germany in order to avoid serving in the Army. Germany expressed regret at the gunboat's action, and promiesd satisfaction if the charges were proved).
