QUOITS.

OPAKI CLUB. (Special to Age.) As the date fixed upon for the previous monthly quoit competition was greeted with unfavourable weather, the men played the two competitions at Mr MoLeod's mill on Saturday. The attendance was. quite up to the

usual standard, and both matches were well contested. In the December Match, E. Petersen was first in the Seniors, G. Welch second, and J. Campbell third. Juniors: Clune 1, N. Campbell 2, J. Campbell 8. The second contest resulted as folows:—Seniors D. McKenzie 1, J. Campbell 2, B. Duckett 3. Juniors: Clune 1, W. Tankersley 2, P. Stevenson 3. By securing first place in the Seniors Mr McKenzie scored his third win and thus entitled himself to Mr J. L. Murray's trophy.

During the afternoon Mr G. Welch, Vice-President, presented the trophies won at previous matches. To Miss Tankersley Mr E. Peterson's trophy; R. Tankirsley. Campbell Bros.' trophy; Bert Camrbell, MrS. Tankersley's trophy; and J. Clune, Mr T. Wyeth's trophy. The usual vote of thanks was passed to the ladies for serving afternoon tea. Fifteen ladies took pari, in the monthly match for Mr Iveson's trophy, which was won by Mrs Searle, Miss A. Wyeth being second. After the competition the annual meeting of the members of the Ladies' Club, was held, and proved, from every point of view, thoroughly satisfactory. On a ballot being taken the following ladies were chosen as a committee for the ensuing year:—Mesdames Tankersley, Wyeth, Chamburlain, Welch, Seurle, Miss M. Campbell, aud Miss A. Wyeth, secretary. Mrs Wyeth, who was re-elected to the chair, notified that a trophy would be given by her to the lady scoring the most points in handicaps during the next twelve months, commencing from February the match. A vote of thanks was passed to the donor for the trophy and also for services to the club during the past year. After the conclusion of the men's competitions the committee mot aud decided to hold their annual meeting of members on Tuesday, February 6th, in Mr Wyeth's woolshed.
