MR MACINTOSH'S RESIGNATION.

CHRISTCHURCH, January 29.

The following paragraph has appeared in the newspapers of tbe coloDy:—-"It is rumoured that Mr Maolntoab, General Manager of the Bank of New Zealand, is severing his connection with the Bank, owing to some difference of opinion with respect to the Government 'banking account." The Chairman of the Bank of New Zealand (Mr P. de C. Malet), for himself ana his colleagues, emphatically denies the rumour circalated aa above as to the resignation of Mr Macintosh, being caused, or brought about, through any difference of opinion respecting the Government accounts.
