MASTERTON CEMETERY TRUSTEES.
QUARTERLY MEETING. The quarterly meeting of the Masterton Cemetery Trustees was held yesterday afternoon. There were present Messrs 0. E. Daniell (qbair), VV. Sellar and R. K. Jackson. The Treasurer reported as follows: —Receipts, '.£37 12e 6d; disbursements, £42 fts 3d; balance at last meeting, £l7 Is 3d; balance at date, £l2 13s 6d. The balance-sheet for the year, 1905, was submitted as follows:
Receipts, £204 10s; expenses, £273 13s 7d; balance from 1904, £73 7s 7d; balance at end of 1905, £4 4s, with £75 on deposit. The report was adopted, subject to its being audited. The Secretary reported that he had received a letter from the managers of the Masterton Presbyterian Church nominating Mr Peter Gordon, senr., to represent the Churoh on the Trust, vice Mr J. P. Elliot, resigned. The nomination had been forwarded to the Colonial Secretary, who replied that the matter was one for the Lands and Survey Department, aud the letter had »been duly forwarded to that Department. No reply Lad yet been received. The Works Committee reported that they had visited the Cemetery, aud had authorised the removal of the shed near the feuce, and the procuring of gravel tor filling up the holes in the footpath along the new fence. Tha report was adopted. It was decided to authorise the caretaker to clear up a number of graves, which were reported to bo in a dilapidated state, and make a charge for the same to the various owners.
