THE WEST INDIES.
Received January 26, 9.37 p.m. LONDON, Jaruary 26. Lord Elgin, Secretary for the Colonies', has decided to retain a white force of artillery hnd engineers at Jamaica, and to permanently station a fast cruiser in the West Indies. A oruisei squadron will be sent there on an annual visit.
