NINETY RIGHT PERSONS SAVED. RIO DK JANEIRO, Jan. 23. Ninety-eight persona were saved from the Aquidaban, and 212 lost their lives. THE WHOLE AFFAIR A'' MYSTERY. Received January 24, 10 p.m. NEW. YORK, Jan. 24. Mysterv surrounds the Aquidaban disaster. Those saved are unable to offer any explanation. The New York Herald states that the explosion was caused by a short circuited electric wire. Those on the vessels lying near at hand heard a loud report, and the Aquidatan seeired to be torn asunder. She sank immediately without an outcry from those on board, many of whom were asleep.
