THE BRITISH IN JOHANNESBURG. ANXIETY IN REGARD TO THE GOVERNMENT'S INTENTION. CAPETOWN, January 2 There is anxiety among the British in Johannesburg at the reported intention of the Government to alter the Constitution in the direction of giving the Boers greater power. A great public meeting is threatened. THE "LOYAL" STBYN. THANKS GOD FOR BANNERMAN'S VICTORY. URGES THAT THE CHILDREN SHOULD REMEMBER. Received January 23, 9.8 p.m. CAPETOWN, January 23, Mr Steyn, speaking at Dewetsdorp on the occasion of the re-interment of some of the burghers killed in the war, urged the burghers to remind their children of the sufferings in the concentration camps. He thanked God for the new Government of Great Britain, which would do justice to tha Boers.
