EGG-LAYING.
UTILITY CLUB. CHRISTCHUROH, January 22. The statement for the 40th week of the New Zealand Utility Poultry Club's Egg-laying Competition, at Lincoln College shows that 665 eggs were laid during the week, an average of 17.5 per pen. The total to date is 24,823. The following are the best totals for the week:—o. Petersen's Black Orpingtons, 31; H. P. Pocock's Blaok Orpingtons, 27; Alexandra Poultry Company's White Plymouth Rocks, 27. The best totals to date are:—H. Hawke's Silver Wyandottes, 988; J. Mann's White Wyandottes, 874; J. H. Shaw's Brown Leghorns, 839; R. E. McEvans' Silver Wyandottes, 783.
