Penton and Fulton three each, O'Brien and Cato two each, took the wickets. Hawke'a Bay, who oompiled 216 in tboir first innings, made a fair response aud totalled 211—Cato 41, Penton 39, Hall 32, Lusk 30. Stemson got 5 wickets for 55 rune. This leaves Auckland 155 runs to pet to win. The weather is keeping One and the wicket is wearing well.
