INVBRCARGILL WOOL SALES. By Telegraph—Press, Association. INVERCARGTLL, Jan 18. The second wool sale is being held to-night, 7462 bales are being offered, and very few lots have been passed iu. Bayers are very numerous, and there was keen competition. The wool was in a much better order "and condition than at first sale, and this accounts for the advance of j£d to Id on the ordinary crossbred. Tne better crossbreds are keenly competed for, but did not show the same advance. Halfbreds of good quality brought up to last sales rates, and bellies and pieoes were a MA to %d better. Half bred made to fine crossbred to J 2d, ordinary crossbred 9}£'d to 10% d, matted crossbred to 9%d, bellies 7d to Dieces 6d to lOd. MELBOURNE HIDE SALES. Received January 19, 1.5 a.m^ MELBOURNE. Jan, 18. For bides there was keen competition in all classes. New Zealand hides were eagerly sought after. The market shows a further improvement on last week's enhanoed rates. Tallow—No report. SYDNEY WOOL SALES. Received January 19, 1.5 a.m. SYDNEY, January &8. The week's wool sales closed with a strong demand. The market is firm at full rates.
