In view of the second round of the Masterton Association's Junior Championship matches, and the position held by the two Star teams, members of the latter are requested to attend practice regularly. AUCKLAND v. WELLINGTON. AN EASY WIN. By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, Jan. 15. The match between Auckland and Wellington finished at 5.30 p.m. in favour of the latter team by 214 runs and three wickets. Hicksou and Redgrave, the not outs, carried tho score to 299 before being separated,the latter bitting merrily for 77, including eight fours. Fourteen runs later Hicksou was boiled by a shooter for a fine innings of 135, which took him three hours and ten minutes, and contained cricket of a high order. After him Brice hit harder still and rattled up 50, including two sixers jn three-quar-ters of an hour. At lunch time the innings closed at 380 for seven wickets—Laws not out 24. A drizzle in the morning made the ball greasy and handicapped the bowlers. Oliff took 3 wickets for 67 runs, but none ot the others could do anything. Auckland had four hours left to win or draw, but were all out by 5.30 p.m. for 177. Hemus 58, Brooke-Smith 37, Lusk 18, Hussey 16, 01i3 13, McNeill 11: Monaghan took 4 wickets for 52 runß. The visitors speak very highly of his bowling. Upham clean bowled the last three men, and secured 4 wickets in all for 55 runs. The fielding on both sides to-day was weak,?and a number of chances were missed.
