FIRED ON BY THE POLICE. Received January 15, 11.16 p.m. THURSDAY ISLAND, Jan. 15. A party of drunken Kanakas took possession of a shop and attaoked with bottles two constables and. two soldiers who were attempting to arrest them. A'constable procured a ride and fired several shots into the shop, wounding six of the Kanakas, two of them seriously.
