PRESENTATION.

TO MR FRED PIRANI. FALMESTON N., Jan. 11. At an enthusiastic meeting at Bunnythorpe last night Mr Fred Pirani was the recipient of a bandsome presentation, contributed to by both politioal opponents and supporters in recognition of his services rendered to the district in political and educational matters. In course of a speech Mr Pirani said that from his knowledge of tactics at the last election the Government nnd liquor party, combined with one religious sect, had added to the loss of right of free speech the destruction of secrecy of the ballot by methods so successfully adopted in the United States of America, and if it was to be considered right that colonial politics should be dominated in that way the result might be different to what could at present be contemplated.
