CASTLEPOINT COUNTY.

COUNCIL MEETING. An adjourned meeting of the Council was held on Saturday last. Present—The Chairman and Crs Langdon, NiohoJls and Richardson. The District Road Engineer wrote re the expenditure of Government grants as arranged by day labour. The Department of Agriculture advised that foxglove was now a noxious weed uuder the "Noxious Weeds Aofc." The Clerk was directed to endeavour to obtain the Hon. H. W. Johnston's consent to the plan of the road from Whakataki to Gastlepoint, ao required by the Survey Department. It was agreed to hold a special meeting of the Council on the 13th inst. to adopt a speciul order to increase the number of ridings within the County from two to three, and to constitute the properties transferred from Akitio County into a new riding to totalled the Matakuna riding.
