At the Grey month Magistrate's Court ou Tuesday a youug man was committed for trial on a charge of having received a gold watch, valued at £52, knowing it to have been stolon. Tbo case arose out of a robbery near Heefton in October, 190-1. A seotion of land comprising about 20 perches, tiaving a frontage of 60ffc to the busiest part of High Street, Christohuroh, was offered for sal© by auction on Tuesday, and withdrawn at £26,000. A properly having a frontage of 30ft in High Street was then offered, but withdrawn at £15,000.
