THE NOKTBERN ASSOCIATION TOURNAMENT. By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, Jan. 8. The Northern Bowling Association's Tournament opened to-day in splendid ■weather. The sun shone brightly all day, and the greens were in good condition, reueut rain having bad a beneficial effect on them. Shortly before 9 a.m. the visiting and city players gathered on the Wellington Club's green, where they were welcomed by Messrs A. Veifcch and F. W. Haybittle. Thirty-two clubs are represented, each by ei H 'ht players, and the games are being played on the Welliagtou, Thorndon, Victoria aud Newtown greens.
