A DEPUTATION.
TO THE WINSITER FOR WORKS. TIMARU, January 8. A deputation waited on the Minister for Public Works to-night to ask for (1) an overhead biidge across the railway yard, (2) a flagman at the street-crossing south of town, and (3) a railway workshop. The Minister replied that the bridge matter is being got ready. A flagman would be considered out it was impossible to nrovide workshops, as requested, for building trucks; but as the work increased it might be fcund advisable to establish repair shops bye-and-bye.
