SPORTS AT DUNEDIN. DUNEDIN, January 2. The Caledonian' sports were well attended, the takings for the two days showing an advance of £59 on last year. The weather turned cold aucl disagreeable in the afternoon. The wrestling resulted:-—Border, W. Ford 1, Thorn ley 2. Catch-as-Catch-Can, Clarence Weber 1, <3. Thoruley 2, R. J. Scott 3. D lined in Handicap, 220 yards, D. Bennett (14yds) 1, C. Mextocl (12yds) 2. 440 Yards, Cottie (30yds) 1, J. Park (42yds) 2; time, 50sec. W. Craik won both the xMile and Two-tniJe Walks, the first in 7miu 2 4 si3ec and the other in 15min 40sec. AT TIMARU. TIMARU, January 2. The Caledonian games were well attended to-day, about £IOO being taken at the gates. A terrific hailstorm fell about 1 p.m., hailstones up to an inch long falling and doiug great damage to glas? verandahs and conservatories in the town. This delayed the sports for an hour. All the events were keenly contested, thp running being exceptionally good,, Sutherland won the Caledonian Wneel Race by half a length, baker beating Randrup by a similar distance. Bonis won tho Three Mile Wheel Race easily. Randrup won the Mile Handicap aud Champion Half Mile. Prizes in the general events were well distributed. AT OAMARU. OAMARU, January 2. The Caledonian games were continued to-day, in a series of thunder showers, which affected the attendance, but the Society will come out with a profit. Morris won the 440 Yards Handicap, McTigue the 75 Yards, McTigue the Oamaru Handicap, Wild the Half Mile, aud Prentice the Mile. In tlje amateur events O'Kane won the 440 Yards Handicap, MoCorkindale the 220 Yards, and o'n.ane the Half Mile. M. M. Geany won the Cumberland i wrestling. J. Cameron was most successful in feats of strength, and Breen iu throwing the hammer. Morgan won the hop, fetep and jump and vaulting.
