THE CHAMPIONSHIP^'MEETING. By -Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON. January 1. The New Zealand - Championship Lawn Tennis Tournament was continued to-day. The weather was very unpleasant. A hard northerly gale swept across the Courts all day. In the semi-final of the Men's Championship Singles Dickie beat Swanston and Parker beat Laishley. In the final Parker won, 6—l, 6—o, 6—2. The Ladies' Championship Singles was won by Miss Nunneley, who beat Miss Powdrell, 6—-3, (i—2. The final for the Combined Cham, pionship Doubles will be played off to-morrow by Parker and Miss Nunneley and Swanston and Miss Powdrell. The Men's Handicap Singles, first grade, was won by Quill and the second grade by Garlick. The'Meu's Handioap Doubles fell to Dickie and Wallace.
